Week 2 EOC: Three Examples of Questionable Ethics

1.“CHEAT ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND, NOT ON YOUR WORKOUT!”

Reebok is considered as one of the biggest athletic equipment company in the world and this is totally a shame on them to posted this up. I have to obey on the idea of this advertisement is because I personal go to gym almost everyday. But as we can see from this poster, rebook is trying to tell us workout hard in a negative way. Workout is not only for males; females do go to gym also. This ad was considered as disrespectful of women and even sexism. On the other hand, rebook had earned more recognition from the press it receives about how unethical it is.

2. Absolute End

“What happens in Vegas stay in Vegas” (from movie Hangover). I believe this quote can explain this advertisement quite well. Thumb up for Absolut vodka been such a bad boy in this.  I would say the author was trying to tell us about after couple shots of Absolut vodka, you’d get drunk like a dead man.  That shows Absolut vodka is the real stuff that compared to the others. But we all familiar with the outline of the absolute bottle that means there was a dead body there before cops moved it. In sociology side, people can’t accept this ad is because people dead on DUI, drunk rape even drunk murder.

3. "Fashion Junkie"

Even though I know girls love clothes but they don't love drugs. I love girls look fashion but I definitely hate girls that do drugs. In my opinion, this advertising is absolutely failed and sink like the titanic. Fashion means be yourself and do what you want to do.
